Message From Our Leadership

We are honored to invite you to be among a special group of attendees at our first annual Taste of Hope Vermont event. We are hoping that you can join us as your commitment and support makes a difference in the lives of the patients and families that utilize the Lois McClure-Bee Tabakin Hope Lodge in their cancer journeys.

Facing cancer is hard. Having to travel out of town for treatment can be both financially and emotionally overwhelming. Yet the American Cancer Society has a place where cancer patients and their caregivers can find help and hope when home is far away – The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, Lois McClure – Bee Tabakin Building. Hope Lodge offers free, temporary housing for cancer patients and their families who are undergoing treatment. More than a place to stay, Hope Lodge is a home away from home, offering a comfortable and supportive environment for encouragement and healing. Getting emotional and social support from other survivors can be as important as getting the proper medical care. At Hope Lodge, guests share similar experiences, and are supported by caring staff and volunteers.

Taste of Hope Vermont will be held on September 20, 2024 from 5pm-10pm at the Barns at Lang Farm in Essex.  Join us for a night of fun including dinner, a silent auction, live auction, live music, and much more as we raise funds to support the Hope Lodge right here in Vermont.

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of cancer survivors in our community!

Sincerely,

Angela Putnam, Senior Manager, Hope Lodge

Nicole Jorgensen, Senior Development Manager

Our Mission

Mission Funding: Hope Lodge

American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® communities offer a home away from home for people facing cancer and their caregivers when cancer treatment is far away. Our 30+ Hope Lodge communities provide a free place to stay during treatment so people with cancer can focus on getting better. These communities provide comfortable guest suites with private baths, as well as inviting spaces with all the comforts of home, including a communal kitchen, dining area, laundry rooms, and places to gather or find a quiet respite – all at no cost to guests.

Hope Lodge guests don’t just find a place to stay – they find a community of support and an emotional connection with others facing the same journey.
